U.S. Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter meets Friday with Tunisian President, Beji Caid Essebsi in Washington and discusses the latest security developments in Tunisia, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. Pentagon issued a statement, saying that the meeting focused on the American-Tunisian defense partnership, latest security developments in Tunisia and ways to support Tunisia in the fight against terrorism. The two sides stressed on importance of the growing partnership between the two countries. U.S. President, Barack Obama, has announced earlier, that he will treat Tunisia as a key ally outside the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), allowing Tunisia to receive special military and security support in the fight against terrorism. Tunisia has been suffering greatly, as a result of the power vacuum in Libya, which IS militants have caused.
