U.S.-led coalition air strikes killed Thursday 28 Islamic State (IS) militants in different parts of Iraq's Salahudin, north of the capital Baghdad, Iraqi Defense Ministry announced. "The air strikes resulted in killing 15 ISIS fighters in Baiji, 3 other militants in Tal-Afar and 4 elements of ISIS in Sharaf al-Adeen area in the district of al-Hawija," a statement issued by Defense Ministry read. In Aug. 2014, the U.S.-led coalition began its aerial bombings against bastions of IS which captured large swathes of the war-torn Iraq and Syria.
