The Egyptian army killed Monday two Wilayat Sinai's militants in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city, Al Bawaba News reported. Security source said that the army had conducted a pre-emptive raid against the group's strongholds in Sheikh Zuweid. It added that two militants were killed and their weapons and explosives were seized. The operations comes to thwart an attempt to attack a military checkpoint in Karam Al-Kawades area. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
