Candidates running for the Parliamentary elections can begin registering after Eid Al Fitr, a source within the Council of ministers told Al Bawaba newspaper Sunday. The source, who asked to remain anonymous, said the issuance of election laws and scheduling of electoral phases would be completed ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, adding that candidates can start registering after Eid Al Fitr (end of Ramadan celebrations). The source explained that the Council stopped receiving any information requests on the electoral law and will send the final draft to the Supreme Elections Committee, which in turn will send it to the ministry of Transitional Justice to hold a comprehensive social dialogue before the elections. The source revealed that President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's request to speed the electoral procedures had encouraged all parties to work hard to hold elections as soon as possible.
