Gunmen kill policeman, injure 2 others in Qalyubia

A policeman was shot dead Tuesday after unidentified gunmen opened fire at a checkpoint in Shibeen Al Qanatar, Qalyubia, befor quickly fleeing the scene on a motorcycle, state run news agency (MENA) reported.
A security official said that two other policemen were wounded in the shooting, adding that they were rushed to the nearest hospital for medical aid.
Terrorist attacks against security forces have escalated following the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi in 2013 amid mass popular protests.
On Sunday, at least 14 people, mostly soldiers, were killed and dozens were injured in coordinated attacks in North Sinai.
