Egypt is coordinating with the Arab Gulf states to engage air and naval forces as well as ground troops if necessary, in a joint military operation on Shiite Houthi rebels, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry said Thursday. The Saudi-led military operation on Yemen's Houthi forces dominated the speech of Shokry during the preparatory meetings for the 26th session of the Arab League summit in Sharm El Sheikh. Shoukry asserted that Egypt rejects the Houthi's usurp of legitimacy in Yemen with a status quo, adding that the Egyptian government has announced its full political and military support to "Operation Decisive Storm" which came in response to the urgent calls of Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi for Arab military intervention to prevent the fall of his country in the hands of Houthi forces.
