Egyptian courts will resume Wednesday the trials of ousted President Mohamed Morsi, Al Jazeera journalists and Muslim Brotherhood supporters, media reported. Cairo criminal court will resume the espionage case of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and 10 other defendants, charged with leaking secret documents and reports on the Egyptian army to Qatar and Qatari TV channel, Al Jazeera. The court will resume the trial of the Qatari network Al Jazeera journalists, Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed, in the case publicly known as the "Marriott terrorist cell". The defendants face charges of belonging to a terrorist organization, disrupting public peace and publishing false news. Last year, the court had sentenced Baher, Fahmy and Australian journalist Peter Greste to seven years in prison. The court will also resume the trial of 68 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) supporters over charges of assaulting Helwan police station. Fayoum criminal court will issue its verdict on 13 MB supporters over charges of killing police officers and setting fire to Tamia police station. Qena criminal court will try 40 MB leaders over charges of attacking police officers, killing 2 people and setting fire to the Qena Court complex. The military criminal court in Alexandria will issue its verdict on 6 MB supporters charged with blocking the railway in Kafr Al Sheikh.
