At least 30 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed Wednesday during intensive air strikes launched by the Iraqi air force against IS strongholds, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced. The militants were attempting to flee Anbar province, west of Baghdad, heading towards Saladin province, north of the capital. Iraqi security authorities also confirmed that seven IS militants were killed and dozens injured during an artillery bombardment carried out by military units against IS sites in the Karma region, southeast of Fallujah city.
