Iraqi forces killed 70 militants of the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group in the Iraqi province Al-Anbar, Iraq's Ministry of Defense announced Sunday. Local sources from Al-Anbar said that joint Iraqi troops targeted the IS's locations and killed 40 militants, including major IS leader, Muhammad Al-Shihawi, who were responsible for weapon supplies to the group, . The sources added that the Iraqi troops backed by Iraqi Volunteer Shiite forces carried out several military operations in Al-Fallujah, killing dozens of militants and injured the IS leader, Hamed Al-Deraa. The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced Saturday that the army and the federal police forces have succeeded to liberate Al-Baghdadi district in Al-Anbar province from the extreme group.
