Kurdish Peshmerga troops backed by the international coalition air strikes seized Monday three villages out of five controlled by the Islamic State (IS) militants in Daquq, south Kirkuk in Iraq, according to Sky News Arabia. Sources told Sky News Arabia that Peshmerga forces launched a military operation to expel IS militants from Al Wehda, Khaled and Saad villages on Kirkuk-Baghdad route, adding that the battle is ongoing though it slowed down. On its part, Iraq's ministry of defense announced the death of 38 jihadists and the defusing of 536 bombs in Saladin province.
