The International coalition conducted Saturday airstrikes on Islamic State (IS) sites, south and west of Kirkuk city, killing eight militants, according to official statements by the Kurdish Peshmerga forces on Sunday. Administrator of the Daquq center for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Idris Sheikh Adel, said that the U.S.-led coalition targeted IS hotbeds in Kirkuk for 90 minutes, leaving eight fighters dead. "The security situation is stable in south Kirkuk and Daquq, due to the military operations conducted by the Iraqi police and army against IS in the Saladin province, which undermined the organization's capacity to fight", he added.
