Two huge explosions took place in the main natural gas pipelines of 10th and 11th districts in 6 October city, during the early hours of Friday, but there have been no casualties reported, according to Youm7. A security source, asked to be unnamed, said that police has received a notice from residents of the neighborhood about the two blasts, adding that the Civil Protection Forces and explosives experts headed to the scene to control it. The source stated that unidentified assailants have planted two improvised explosive devices on the gas pipelines in October, causing massive explosions. With regard to the residents' safety, police forces closed the main gas pipeline and evacuated homes near the scene of the explosion. The plantation of small bombs in public spaces reportedly by extreme militants has been escalated in recent months, constituting a diversification in the tactics of militants who previously focused on police and army facilities and personnel since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
