The Egyptian security forces succeeded Monday in thwarting a terrorist attempt to blow up an improvised explosive device targeting a security convoy eastern Arish, according to security sources. The sources, which asked to be unnamed, said that the security discovered a homemade bomb planted by unidentified militants on the Arish - Sheikh Zuweid highway, and managed to explode it with no casualties. Egyptian security forces have been increasingly attacked since the 2013 ouster of president Mohammed Morsi, claiming scores of policemen and soldiers lives .
