Libyan Political Islam researcher, Mohammed Al Khoga said Monday the division between Islamist groups in Libya indicates a future war against the Islamic State (IS) in Libya, according to reports. "The Derna based Islamist groups can never reach an agreement as their members are divided into two different teams, those who fight against General Haftar and his army commanders as they consider them an extension of Gadhafi's regime and the enemies of Islam, while others have pledged allegiance to the IS, which considers everyone, including civilians infidels," Al Khoga told Erem News Network. On its part, The Derna's Jihadists Shura Council (DJSC), has warned the IS of mixing "Muslims' blood" with "Haftar's supporters," condemning the IS' attacks on Muslims, adding that Jihad's greatest purpose is to protect Muslims, not to kill innocents. (DJSC) has threatened IS of "fierce war" over targeting Muslim civilians. The IS has reportedly expanded its influence in Libya over the past few months as it seeks to establish an Islamic province near Libya's rich oil fields, after its militants seized the eastern city of Sirte.
