Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi strongly condemned Sunday the execution of 21 Egyptian Copts by the Islamic state (IS) affiliated militants in Libya. Sisi decided to hold an urgent meeting of the National Defense Council to discuss adopting an immediate response to the vicious terrorist incident. The president declared seven days of national mourning for the killing of the Egyptians in Libya, expressing his condolences for the victims' families and the Egyptian people for their loss.
On his part, the governor of Aswan, Moustafa Yousry announced that the annual king Ramses sun festival will be cancelled to mourn the death of the Egyptian victims. Yousry delivered his deep condolences to the victims' families, stressing on the need for unity against internal and external threats.
