Kuwait's permanent representative in the Arab League, Aziz Al-Daihani announced Wednesday that the Arab League summit, scheduled to be held in Egypt in March, will address counter-terrorism measures. Al-Daihani said the Arab governments have been applying coordinated security measures to counter-terrorism, according to MENA. He stressed that research and studies have been conducted to understand this phenomenon in order to tackle it, adding that Islam is innocent from the acts of terrorist groups that commit murder and incite bloodshed in its name. He explained that the consultative meeting of the Arab League's permanent representatives on Thursday will discuss the recent terrorist attacks in Sinai and the execution of captured Jordanian pilot Moaz Al Kasasbeh by the Islamic State (IS). Al-Daihani condemned the terrorist attacks in Arish and the murder of Kasassbeh, describing the IS as "a group that keeps spreading terrorism across the globe". IS released a video on Tuesday purportedly showing the burning of Jordanian pilot Moaz Al Kasassbeh, who was captured in December after his F-16 fighter jet crashed in territory controlled by IS in Syria.
