Captured Jordanian pilot's family demands IS release their son
According to statements from IS and the Jordanian military, the jihadist group has downed an aircraft from the Jordanian air force and captured its pilot

The parents of a captured Jordanian pilot, Muath Asef Kasasbeh, urged Islamic State fighters to release their son, Jordanian radio station Al-Balad reported.
The radio station interviewed the captured pilot's brother after the news spread that IS downed a plane from the Jordanian air force and captured its pilot.
Kasasbeh said in a phoneinterviewthat the family received the news through the media, begging IS to release his brother, insisting that Moaz is a "Young Muslim man who has never neglected a prayer."
"The people who arrested him are Muslims like him, so we hope they will release him and consider him a brother," Kasasbah said adding that his brother was just obeying orders.
Kasasbeh's brother also begged IS to release him for the sake of their "old and sick parents."
The Jordanian Times newspaper reported that Muaz's father, Safi Kasasbeh, called "on those who arrested him and on all those who have powers and authorities to intervene” to secure his release.
Earlier on Wednesday IS announced that the group was able to down a warplane and capture the pilot, affirming its claim with a number of photos of the pilot.
A few hours later, the Jordanian military confirmed the news through its official news agency, Petra.
"During a mission Wednesday morning conducted by several Jordanian Air Force planes against hideouts of the IS terrorist organisation in the Raqa region, one of the planes was downed and the pilot was taken hostage by IS," a military official told Petra.
