Clashes broke out across the nation on the fourth anniversary of the January 25 uprising, among strict security measures by Egyptian authorities. Health ministry declared that the death toll reached 5 citizens and another 21 injured on Sunday. However, Egypt's cabinet declared that the situation was stable in most provinces so far. The capital witnessed a number of confrontations between security forces and protesters. The first clash took place in front of the 6th October police station, where protesters affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) threw fireworks at the police station's buildings. Policemen responded with warning shots and teargas to disperse the protesters. No injuries were reported. Another district in Cairo Arab Al Maadi witnessed clashes where police fired warning shots to disperse a protest march of MBs, some protesters were wounded during the incident. The surrounding area of Tahrir Square was a hotspot of rallies, where security forces reportedly dispersed several protests by MBs and members of the April 6 Movement. Police arrested four MB protesters. Eyewitnesses confirmed violent clashes at Ein Shams district between security and MBs, leading to teargas being used to disperse protesters. Protesters chanted against the current regime and blocked the road with burned tires. At Matariya, two policemen and one soldier were wounded by birdshot pellets during clashes with protesters. In the Giza governorate, 200 armed elements allegedly of the MBs rallied at Badrashin district. Sources claimed that they fired birdshots and fireworks at security forces attempting to disperse them, leading to the to injury of one policeman. Imbaba city also witnessed clashes between protesters and security forces, following the dispersal of two MB rallies. In Faisal Street, MBs blocked the Ring Road where police had intensified its presence. In Minya, Upper Egypt, police dispersed a protest march of MBs at Delga village, and arrested four of them. Another four MB members were arrested at Kafr Al Sheikh governorate. Residents helped the police in arresting another outlaw, who terrorized citizens by firing gunshots in the air. In Alexandria, medics confirmed the death of an armed MB protester in Al Awayed district. The ministry of Interior affirmed in an official statement that the deceased protester attempted to terrorize residents by firing random bullets with a rifle. One civilian was reportedly shot dead by the armed MB.
