With the approach of the January 25 anniversary, security forces received several reports of explosive packages found at various sites in Egypt. Bomb disposal officers were deployed to these locations. Two time-bombs were diffused at Kirdasa police station on Saturday, using high pressure water hoses and robots. Security forces then scanned the area for other potential threats. In Sayeda Eisha, Eastern Cairo, an explosive package was diffused under the Sayeda Eisha bridge early on Saturday. Security forces diffused a bomb in Kafr El Sheikh after receiving reports about a suspicious package planted on the railway line. No casualties were reported. A package in Behira School caused widespread panic among students after another bomb exploded in a nearby natural gas power station, causing a power outage. Bomb squad officers rushed to diffuse the bomb at the school. A homemade bomb was also diffused earlier at Maymun village, Bani Suweif, after reports that a suspicious package had been found in front of the local government office. Security forces in Giza said that a package found near the Orman Gardens was harmless. It did not contain any explosive material.
