The Imitation Game Lands 8 Academy Award Nominations including Best Picture and Directing

The Imitation Game rounded its impressive award run with 8 Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Directing. Benedict Cumberbatch's role as Alan Turing earned the British actor is first nomination for Actor in a Leading Role. Keira Knightley received a nomination for Actress in a Supporting Role, her second Oscar nomination. The film also received a nomination for Writing (Adapted Screenplay), Production Design, Film Editing, and Music (Original Score.)
Into the Woods earned three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep her record 19th nomination for Actress in a Supporting Role. The star-studded also received nomination for Costume Design and Production Design.
Marvel films received multiple nominations with Guardians of the Galaxy, the highest grossing film worldwide in 2014, receiving nominations for Visual Effects and Makeup and Hairstyling. Captain America: The Winter Soldier received a nomination for Visual Effects.
Disney's Big Hero 6 got nominated for Animated Feature, while the Angelina Jolie starring Maleficent was nominated for Costume Design. The thriller Night crawler earned a nomination for Writing (Original Screenplay.)
Allied for Distribution, the distributor of Walt Disney, Marvel and Sony Pictures films in Egypt, released The Imitation Game, Into the Woods, Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Night crawler and Maleficent in Egyptian theatres in 2014.
