Horoscopes:
Play all through summer
By Imhotep
Cupid's arrows are flying all over the place for Rams, as people born under the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries (21 Mar-21 Apr) are sometimes called. Rams will be egged on to show glimpses of the more benevolent side of their nature in August, and especially so towards the end of the month. Please don't worry about the big decision you must make in August. Cross that bridge when you come to it, relax and enjoy July to the fullest.
Your faith might be rattled a little by your experiences this August my dear Rams. But in July, all will be well. Spiritual alienation and the full spectre of sin might be tantalisingly tempting this August for Rams. These headstrong creatures will be especially prone to material temptations in August. Whether or not they succumb to the allure of wickedness is entirely up to them. If Rams listen to their inner voices and follow their instincts, they'll have peace of mind. If, on the other hand, they follow their whims then trouble might ensue. But you'll be happy to potter along quite pleasingly by early August.
All said and done, in August, Rams will have ample opportunity to help people in need. Bless your hearts benevolent Rams, but make sure you clearly understand the difference between pity and compassion. Indeed, Rams must take a satirical look at their lives in August if they are to keep their sanity intact.
It has been a rough month for people born under the Fixed Earth sign of Taurus (22 Apr- 22 May). But in August, my dear Bulls, as Taureans are sometimes called, you must steer a course between discretion and forthrightness towards the middle of the month. Uncharacteristically, the normally diplomatic Bulls will be tempted to lose their cool in August. A clash with your immediate boss at the workplace, my dear Bulls, might take place at the beginning of the month when, for a change, you will speak your mind. Similar bluntness later in the month is bound to annoy someone in a position of authority. Don't be perturbed. Stand your ground.
Bulls like to play fair. They instinctively prefer not to tread on others' toes. Slow to anger, they are generally good-natured except when crossed. Then, and only then, do they charge like the Bulls they truly are. Their innate sense of caution will stand them in good stead.
By mid-August, the proverbial Taurean patience will be tested to the limit. Most Bulls, however, will not lose their cool. Bulls are adroit at flattering others. Bulls, tactful and diplomatic, will find August to present many opportunities to practise the delicate art of diplomacy. Taureans like to base their interpersonal relationships on a philosophical premise: they understand perfectly that friendships are a two-way street.
People born under the Mutable Air sign of Gemini (23 May-22 Jun) have yet another difficult month ahead. The Twins, as Geminians are called, are often impatient, restless people. The greatest challenge Geminians face in August is to show a singleness of mind and purpose. Castor and Pollux, the original Twins of Gemini, were notorious for their lack of clearheaded thought. The trick, my dear Twins, is to be of one mind. How will you get to the bottom of who this person truly is deep down? For starters, find a few questions about issues that really matter to you. Ask them in an open- ended way, and see what they say.
Twins will have ample opportunity in the last two weeks of the month to prove that they are still punching. There are two points at issue here: life is about give and take. Twins must learn how to be magnanimous -- not only in a material sense, but to give liberally of their time and emotions. The terrible twosome must desist from reckless acts of selfish impulse.
The month of August, however, comes loaded with fresh challenges for Twins in the arena of romance and affairs of the heart.
