Horoscopes: Mercurial month

Horoscopes:
Mercurial month
By Imhotep
Rams, as people born under the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries (21 Mar- 21 Apr) are sometimes called, tend to make sheep's eyes at their shepherds. Aires is a Cardinal sign and Rams make natural leaders for they exude much charisma. They yearn for excitement, and their lives are often enmeshed in controversy.
Sometimes it is best not to probe too deeply for information that concerns our loved-ones. This August, ill- intentioned Rams might get their fingers burnt over rummaging through the secret diaries of spouses or lovers.
Rams are passionate creatures. They are generous to their lovers while love lasts. Generous to a fault, actually. Some of them are notorious for their sexual exploits. Some are so driven from one attractive partner to another that they leave a sorry trail of tears and torment behind them.
Rams must ultimately learn how to curb their insatiable lusts. Mind you, I have come across a few asexual Rams.
When I first introduced this column, I advised people to check their Ascendant, Love, Passion and Power signs, because these influences either profoundly moderate or accentuate a person's Sun sign attributes.
So not all Rams will experience the trauma associated with Mercury turned retrograde on 22 July. The ramifications, my dear Rams, are spellbinding. Rams with Gemini as their Ascendant must watch out for the magic in the air. In July, you were, my dear Rams, on good footing there vis-a-vis this new interest, but in August all of that changes. Or at least, it is all up in the air. You can't make heads or tails of anything.
Venus in Virgo means that Bulls, as people born under the Fixed Earth sign of Taurus (22 Apr-22 May) are sometimes called, must choose carefully this month, and especially Taureans with a Virgo ascendant. Taureans are people who articulate commonly held views. They are typically conventional and conservative creatures. But, can be fussy and fastidious perfectionists.
It is vitally important to address the fear that often builds up inside a certain kind of Taurean. Imhotep knows that for some Bulls, especially those with a Venus-ruled (Taurus or Libra) Ascendant, they are passing through an especially difficult period. Taureans have been experiencing emotional and mental trials and tribulations for some time now, and none of these difficulties had seemed as distressing as the one you now face.
Take heart, Imhotep can see you perfectly and completely refreshed, both mentally and physically by the middle of August. Taureans, at any rate, are strong-willed and determined, they are the ultimate survivors. Righteous and dutiful, Bulls always have the urge to adopt the correct course of action.
Twins, as people born under the Mutable Air sign of Gemini (23 May-22 Jun) are sometimes called, have the tendency to play ostrich and bury their heads in the sand when up against intractable problems. It might feel more comfortable at the moment to shut your eyes, dear Twins, than to open them, but your powerful intuitive sense tells you that it is getting darker all around you.
A typical Geminian exhibits a sometimes frustrating indecision and prudence that paralyses them and might lead to inaction. This feeling of incertitude is especially pronounced in a Geminian when life seems to change overnight from bright sunshine into utter darkness.
Geminians are money-minded and in August they might fret more than a little about their financial situation. They have reason to be troubled. Fear not, Geminians, your financial worries will soon dissipate. All will be well, Imhotep predicts. If you could just conquer your fear and indecision, you would be fine.
Doubting Thomases by nature, Twins never take things at face value. But in this season of love, Twins are well advised not to shoot suspicious glances at their lovers without good cause. They must not jump to conclusions when they have no absolute proof of their suspicions. There is an opportunity for Twins to build relationships free of jealousy and infidelity in August. It's a golden opportunity, so go ahead and grab it.
