Marawan Zayed keeps his eye on the former Zamalek superstar Future Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah played two games this week, one in the Europa league and the other in the Swiss league against lowly side Servette. First, Basel faced Genk in the Europa league and managed to come from two goals down to seal a vital draw at home in a game that saw Salah complete the 90 minutes. Salah shone in the game and showed glimpses of his undoubted ability but couldn't score or assist in any of the two goals. As for the league game against Servette, Salah didn't start the game and came on in the 65th minute when the score was 3-2 to Basel which is how the game ended. Salah was a calm influence in his short cameo and kept things simple as his side defended their lead. Basel stays in fourth place with the win. Ahmed Al-Mohamadi's Hull City continued their mixed form of late in their two league games they played this week. First they suffered a 3-2 home loss at the hands of Blackpool. Unlike his team, Mohamadi had a terrific game and sent numerous dangerous crosses and passes to his teammates who couldn't convert any of them. After three consecutive losses, Hull managed to get back to winning ways as they defeated Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 away from home. Once again Mohamadi played a very good game but couldn't assist or score any goals. Hull moves to 10th place after these two games. Still in England, Adam Al-Abd's Brighton drew two games this week and remain winless in their last three games. The first game which was against Ipswich Town at home saw Al-Abd play the full game and receive a yellow card but had a solid afternoon at the back and didn't commit any mistakes. Brighton had an away game next against a tough Derby County side and managed to clinch a vital draw thanks to some last ditch tackles from the ever reliable Al-Abd at the end of the game. The game which ended goalless took Brighton to fifth place. Mido's Barnsley suffered two straight defeats this week at the hands of Peterborough and Leeds United respectively. The first defeat came at home against Peterborough as the game ended 2-0 to the away side and the second game ended 1-0 to Leeds United away from home. Our Egyptian star Mido is still recovering from his injury so he was absent from both games. Barnsley drops to 19th place after the two defeats. Leaving England and moving to Belgium, Lierse managed to clinch a vital draw away from home as they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Lokeren. Ahmed Samir Farag and Ahmed Said Okka missed the game through injury while Al-Gabbas was not included in the match squad for tactical reasons. Lierse stays in 13th place after this game. In Turkey, Amr Zaki's Eliazigspor once again failed to win as they played out a goalless draw against Akhisar Belediyespor at home. Zaki started the game on the bench but came on in the 46th minute and tried his best to find a winning goal for his team but unfortunately couldn't find one as he clearly lacked service. Zaki received a yellow card in the 93rd minute. Eliazigspor remains at the bottom. In Italy, Ahmed Hegazi watched from the bench as his side Fiorentina beat Bologna 1-0 at home to win their first game in three matches as they drew the past two. Our young pharaoh didn't see action yet again as he continues to settle at his new club. Fiorentina moves two places up to sixth place after this win. Leaving Europe and moving to the UAE where our two magicians Shikabala and Mohamed Zidan play, Shika's astonishing displays in the UAE league continued as he played a magnificent game in his side's 2-2 draw against Al Ahli. For the first time since moving to Al Wasl, Shika failed to either assist or score in a game yet he was one of the best players on the pitch thanks to his tricks and key passes. Al Wasl drops to 7th place after two consecutive draws. Mohamed Zidan's Banni Yas managed to secure a vital victory away from home as they beat Dubai 3-2 in the last minute to win their second game in a row. "Zizou" was absent from the game as he injured his hamstring in week one and could be sidelined for up to two months. The win takes Banni Yas to 6th place.
