By Ahmed Morsy SIX-time African champions Ahli of Egypt are scheduled to clash with Morocco's Wydad Casablanca in the group stage of the African Champions League in Morocco on Sunday, reports Ahmed Morsy. Ahli, who place third in the group with five points, must at least tie in this away game against Wydad who remain in charge of Group B with six points and have a better goal difference than second place Esperance of Tunisia. Algeria's MC Alger come last with two points. Esperance are scheduled to host MC Alger in the fifth group's encounter on Saturday. With two matches for each team remaining and the top two in the group going to the semi- finals, Ahli need at least a draw and better yet a win after collecting only five points from their four matches in the all-North Africa group. Should Wydad and Esperance win, Ahli will be out of the tournament they have won more times than any other club. In their last away game against MC Alger, Ahli were held to a goalless draw and refused to make good use of the gifted goalless draw in the other Group B game between Wydad and Esperance. As for the Algerian side, they seriously compromised their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League after their draw with Ahli. "The absence of players due to injuries and suspension was the reason behind our draw," Manuel Jose, Ahli coach, said after his team's draw. "We played the game without key players such as Mohamed Barakat, Hossam Ghali and Ahmed Fathi," he added. Fathi and Ghali were suspended while Barakat is nursing a broken arm. "However, we won't lose hope as we are still confident of qualifying for the semi-finals." Abdelhak Menguellati, MC Alger coach, believed that they were superior during the game. "We practically dominated the entire match but we failed to capitalise in the first half after creating several opportunities. In the second half, it was evident the players were suffering from fatigue," Menguellati said after the game. "We played against a tough Ahli side. We bungled our qualification chances but that does not hinder us from playing our last two matches with devotion. From the start, we did not focus much on this competition considering the massive departure of some key players, while our new recruits need time to adapt. It however remains a good experience for us." Ahli enjoyed a 2-0 win against MC Alger in Cairo last month after being defeated 1-0 by Esperance. In their opener against Wydad in Cairo, Ahli drew 3-3. Ahli's final game is against Esperance in Cairo. In Group A, runners-up Sudan's' Hilal, with seven points, are due to host leaders Nigeria's Enyimba, eight, tomorrow. Cotton Sport FC de Garoua, fourth-place with two points, are scheduled to host third-placed Raja Casablanca, four, in Cameroon on Saturday
