Italian Cultural Institute 3 El-Sheikh El Marsafy St, Zamalek, Tel 02 2735 5423/2735 8791 “Writing the Divine Comedy – Fifth Edition: The Dark Forest”, exhibition is dedicated to the masterpiece of Dante Alighieri and to the transcription of the first 21 verses of the Divine Comedy in different languages of the world, returns to Egypt after an international journey, enriched by recent works by Antonella Leoni Campioni and other artists, with a special section dedicated to the Selva Oscura (Dark Forest) (closing 30 August).

Tel 02 25784494/Mob. 0100 1704554 “Amshoq”, through two series of artworks Mustafa El-Husseiny explores themes that have had a strong impact on him throughout his life. In his “Amshoq” series, in which he used cardboard as the canvas for his drawings, he addresses the issue of subordinates following rigorous orders blindly imposed on them by their superiors. In his second series “Imam Al-Shafi'I”, he shows us what he came across during his walks around the cemetery of the City of the Dead while searching for a way to reconnect with his late father (16 September -18 October). Mashrabia Annex, 15 Mahmoud Bassiony St, Downtown “The Free Thinker Sees” by Abbass Al-Kadhim (Baghdad, Iraq), he makes paintings, photos, drawings and sculptures. He creates compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images that stand on the edge between recognition and alienation (16 September -18 October).

Zamalek Art gallery 11 Brazil St, Zamalek, Tel 02 2735 1240 Venue I & Venue II “Masterpieces XVII”, is the gallery's summer collective art exhibition. For the seventeenth consecutive year, the gallery presents an exclusive collection of paintings and sculptures for its most prominent artists as well as its young talents. This year's three new guests of honour are Abdel-Hady Al-Wechahi, Saleh Reda and Karim Al-Hayawan (closing 31 August).
