The American University in Cairo The Photographic Gallery New Cairo Campus, Abdul Latif Jameel Hall, Plaza Level, Tel 02 2615 3318 “The Colorful Lure of India,” a photography exhibition by Egyptian photographer Boulos Isaac. The exhibition will feature a collection of photographs on the many facets of India's culture, customs, and landscapes. Isaac is specialized in monuments and artifacts photography since 2005. He is a photography instructor for hobbyists since 1995 and at Nikon School of Photography, Egypt. He has contributed in several projects with World monuments Fund, Musée Sans Frontières, The AUC Press and Saint Marc Foundation. He is the photographer of “The Treasures of Islamic Art in the Museums of Cairo” and “The Treasures of Coptic Art” published by AUC Press (closing17 November).

Tel 02 2737 3298 “Handcrafted Form: Traditions and Techniques from Japan”, is an exhibition of handcrafted objects made from traditional materials with traditional techniques from all over Japan. In this exhibition, more than 90 pieces are on display, belongs to 7 sections according to the raw materials of each craft: ceramics, textiles, metal work, lacquer ware, wood and bamboo work, paper. In cooperation with the Fine Art Sector in Egypt, the Japan Foundation Cairo Office will be organizing its grand international touring exhibition for the first time in 3 governorates consecutively; Cairo, Alexandria, and Assiut. With the presence of the ambassador of Japan, Mr. Takehiro Kagawa, Mr. Masakazu Takahashi, the director of the Japan Foundation Cairo Office will be opening the exhibition. Exhibition will continue for 2 weeks after which will be transferred to Alexandria Fine Arts Museum also for 2 weeks, then moves to Assiut University where it would be celebrating the inauguration of the Faculty of Fine Arts there, where it would continue past the beginning of the new year 2017 (6-17 November).
