Cairo Bats is a collective of female artists based in Cairo who meet to stage photographs through playful interactions in semi-public spaces. “Act 1: The Roof” is the first public exhibition of work produced by Cairo Bats and assembles a series of pictures spanning a period of two years taken on roof tops in the city(closing 9 April).

After Cairo, the exhibition will travel to London and New York (closing 12 April).

Shaath takes her camera inside the homes of family and friends and acknowledges ordinary and familiar objects, moments, and spaces that we often overlook, granting them a grace that evokes the people that breathe life into them.
