At Duroub gallery in Garden City, Hanan Youssef'sexhibition of paintings entitled "The Charm of Watercolours" is currently on display. She showcases 35 aquarelle paintings using complicated and difficult techniques which she managed to tame. She also masters painting with pastel and oil colours. Watching her works on show, it is obvious that she has a special focus on the world of femininity through painting a group of female figures such as a Palestinian woman with her Palestinian features expressed through clear expressive touches using the blue colour that reflects the vividness of life. Commenting on her exhibition, Youssef said, "Through my paintings on show, I reflect via the brush the brightness and vibrancy of the medium of aquarelle inspired by the brilliant landscape in my country such as the eternal River Nile, the serene smiles of the children and the daily social activities of the Egyptian people." In some of her paintings, she depicts an imaginative world that she wishes one day to live in. The exhibition continues until 12 April.
