"Cut and Paste", Huda Lutfi presents a psycho-geographic archive of emotions, gestures, figures of speech and images that circulated in public space during Egypt's transitional period. "Social Security", featuresYazaan Al-Zo'bi andIslam Shabana, Moshtarak, Obada, WAGBA curated by:Ania Szremski andShehab Awad; these artists and culture workers will present public programs to build grassroots support, raise money, and exchange services and goods through networks that bypass traditional channels of fundraising.They are joined in the space by WAGBA (formerly known as Wednesday Wagbas), Townhouse's community-funded micro-granting programme that was launched in 2011. Weekly meals accompanied by artist talks and discussions will be served in the First Floor for a donation which will go into a general fund to support the artists (Closing 8 January).

"Freedom is Coming", shown in Egypt for the first time on the occasion of Townhouse's 15 year celebrations, El Horeya Gayya Labod (Freedom is Coming, 2013) is a larger-than-life sized leather and iron sculpture modeled on a French 17th-century chastity belt created by Lara Baladi.
Large enough to engulf a human being, the sculpture functions almost like a cage—a prison made of iron, a substance that is obdurate and resistant to change, ultimately signifying the looming danger of the loss of freedom at large (Closing 8 January).
