Tel 2576 8086 *Library Sun 19, 7pm:“Salon: Design, Water, Power”, an artist talk features Joseph Audeh in a discussion about hydrological development in Egypt and the accumulation of power and capital it makes possible. He will explore state and civic strategies used to overcome issues of water scarcity and availability across the Middle East, as well as hybrid solutions that combine Islamic technology with future innovation. Audeh is a Palestinian-American artist whose work stems from multiple disciplines—architecture, political ecology, and development studies. Tue 21, 7pm: "Sun Ra in Egypt", aperformative talk by artist Tom Bogaert about the current state of his ongoing project 'Sun Ra in Egypt' at Townhouse Gallery in Cairo. The artist will be discussing the provisional outcome of his research alongside live experiments during his performance. ‘Sun Ra in Egypt' is a research-based project that examines Sun Ra's personal mythology of Cosmic Philosophies, Black Nationalism, Freemasonry and various other spiritual belief systems many of which were derived from ancient Egypt.
