The harrowing accident that occurred near Manfalout near the Upper Egyptian city of Assiut where 51, mostly children, were killed when a train slammed into a school bus as it crossed the tracks at a rail crossing. I illustrated a mother, a veiled Madonna, clutching her dead suckling child looking like a ghost. The mother is wailing as the villagers ran amok in the mayhem that ensued. Public anger escalated and the Railway Authority head Mustafa Kenawi resigned and Egypt's Transport Minister Rashid Al-Meteini followed suit.
