Cairo duo Ahly and Zamalek are battling it out to sign Ittihad El-Shorta's highly-rated striker Khaled Qamar in the summer, the police-owned club said on Saturday. "Ahly, Zamalek, Ismaily and Qanah have stepped up their interest in signing Khaled Qamar, " Ittihad El-Shorta board member Ali Gheit told a television sports show on Saturday. Gheit said El-Shorta's board will determine the player's future during the coming two weeks when it discusses the formal offers for the player. "The management will hold a meeting on 25 April to reach a final decision," he added. Ahly are looking to boost their squad for the new season after failing to reach the CAF Champions League group stage this term. Zamalek are desperately seeking to land a new striker after their three marksmen - Ahmed Gaafar, Arafa El-Sayed and Ahmed Ali, failed to impress.
