Goal-hungry Ahmed Ali boosts Al-Hilal treble bid
Support for Ali finally pays off after a dubious start with Al-Hilal

Saudi media hailed Ali on Monday for finding the net for the third game in a row, to extend their lead at the top and open a 9-point gap ahead of second-placed Ittihad.
The talented striker is set to undergo medical scans after receiving a knock that could prevent him from playing against Al-Wehda in the Saudi Crown Prince Cup next Friday, according to the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Riyadh.
The 22-year old player managed to overturn his poor debut at Al-Hilal and became a key instrument in the team's recent successes.
The Ismaily striker, who joined the Saudi giants in January on a six month loan deal, had great support from Argentinian coach, Gabriel Calderon, and football director Samy El-Jaber.
“Ali has excellent potential, I'm sure he will deliver his goods quickly. I still remember when people criticised us for bringing in Christian Wilhelmsson . He also needed a bit of time before becoming one of our key players,” El-Jaber said.
Ali repaid the faith of the Saudi legend and immediately started to do what he does best, scoring goals.
He scored crucial goals, against Al-Ahli and Al-Ettifaq, for Al-Hilal who have almost secured this season's title.
“I'm happy here and everybody helped me to adapt. I want to stay here if they want and I promise to do my best to score in every match,” Ali told the Saudi media.
He kept his word and the supporters hope that he is able to carry on and achieve a glorious season, resulting in winning the treble - AFC Champions League, Saudi League and Cup.
