'No personal duel' between Zamalek's current and former coaches Mido will face his predecessor when Zamalek take on Talae El-Gaish in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday
Zamalek coach Mido said Thursday's game against Talae El-Gaish will not be a personal duel between him and Helmi Toulan, his predecessor at the Cairo club. Mido replaced Toulan as Zamalek's coach in January after the latter was dismissed following a string of poor results. "We are looking for a win against El-Gaish. We will face a team not a coach," rookie coach Mido, a Zamalek fan favourite, told a news conference on Tuesday. Mido is also confident Toulan's previous knowledge of Zamalek will not benefit him during Thursday's game. "The players' role and performances are different now. El-Gaish won't have any advantages in that regard," he added. Zamalek, who reached the African Champions League group-stage earlier this week at the expense of Zambia's Nkana FC, are eighth in Group B of the league table with 15 points, ten behind leaders Petrojet. However, they still have three games in hand which could see them advance to second in the table.
