Ahly await Hull City decision on Gedo English Premier League side Hull City is considering a request by Egypt's Ahly to cut short a loan deal on striker Gedo, Ahly officials claim
Ahly striker Mohamed Nagi Gedo, who plays for English Premier League side Hull City on loan, is expected to return to his base club Ahly in January, according to the Cairo giants' football committee head Hady Khashaba. Ahly sent a letter to Hull City asking them about the situation of their striker Gedo as the team suffers a lack of players on the frontline after the retirement of star forward Mohamed Abou-Treika. "Hull City sent a letter informing us that they will announce their decision on Gedo's situation on 10 January," Khashaba told reporters after Sunday's training session. "Hull City has the right to terminate Gedo's loan deal and allow him return to Ahly, so we are waiting for their decision." he concluded. The 28-year-old star joined Hull City in a one-season loan from Ahly last summer, but he made few appearances with the Tigers in the Premier League this season. It was Gedo's second stint at Humberside after his half-season loan last winter. Gedo impressed by scoring five goals and played a key role in helping Hull City seal promotion to the elite Premier League. However, in the summer, Hull opted not to sign him on a permanent basis after he suffered a foot injury that has sidelined him for three months. The towering forward is best known for scoring five goals in the 2010 African Cup of Nations to guide Egypt to a record-breaking seventh continental title.
