Nigeria defeated Ethiopia 4-1 on aggregate in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers playoff to be the first African team reach the tournament's finals. The Super Eagles took an early lead by their striker Victor Mosses who converted a penalty kick only 20 minutes after the start. Victor Obinna doubled the score for Nigeria in the 81st minute to finish the second leg with 2-0 win over Ethipoia.
