Nigeria reveals squad that will play Ethiopia in World Cup play-offs Nigerian coach announces the players that will face Ethiopia in the African 2014 World Cup play-off in Addis Ababa next month, Ethiopian coach
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has announced the 23-man squad that will face Ethiopia in the first round of the African 2014 World Cup qualifiers' play-offs on 12 October. Keshi states that the same squad that has played the last two international qualifiers' games will play again in Ethiopia. The secretary-general of Nigeria's football association, Musa Amadu, said he was happy to see Nigeria paired with Ethiopia in the African World Cup qualifiers' play-offs. "I actually think we couldn't have had a better draw," Amadu told KickOffNigeria.com. Ethiopia is the lowest-ranked team among the ten African qualifiers, ranking 93rd in the FIFA global rankings, and 25th in Africa. "We got the lowest ranked team in the draw... and we get to play the first leg away from home. It is really the best we could have got out of the draw." The second leg of the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Ethiopia will be played on 16 November.
