Ghana suffer defense problem ahead of Egypt clash: Ex Ghana star
Former Ghana forward Yaw Preko believes that numerous player injuries will pose problem for coach Akwasi Appiah
Published in Ahram Online on 03 - 10 - 2013

Ghana has reportedly lost three key defenders due to injuries ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers playoffs on 15 October.
Ex-Ghana forward Yaw Preko revealed that Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah will do his best to find replacements for the injured players.
"The back four are always the most important," Preko was quoted as saying on Ghanasoccernet.
"Because when you have a stable back four, all you need is a good midfield to get the team going," he added.
Defender Isaac Vorsah is already out of action with a longstanding knee injury. Injured Johanthan Mensah is expected to miss the crucial game against Egypt, and John Boye will also reportedly withdraw from the Ghana squad as he suffers from a groin problem.
"There is no John Mensah and Isaac Vorsah, who are the first choices
"John Boye is now also injured and this really poses a problem for coach Kwasi Appiah
"But I believe he will find suitable replacements because that is why he went out to monitor players," the former striker concluded.
The second leg will be held in Cairo on 19 November with spectators, despite security concerns due to fan troubles that cancelled two successive Premier Leagues.
Ghana are seeking to play in the World Cup for the third consecutive time, having reached the quarter-finals in their last appearance in 2010. The Pharaohs are eyeing their first World Cup appearance since 1990.
