Egypt's Mohamed Nagy ‘Gedo' made his first appearance with Hull City this season as his side advanced to the League Cup fourth round for the first time since 1977 following a 1-0 victory over lower-tier club Huddersfield Town. The 28-year-old started on the bench before replacing Matty Fryatt five minutes past the hour mark. German forwar Nick Proschwitz scored Hull's winner in the 59th minute. Gedo has re-joined Hull on a season-long loan from Egyptian giants Ahly but had to wait for his first appearance due to injury and visa problems. He played a key role in helping the Tigers seal promotion to the elite Premier League last season after scoring five goals during a brief six-month loan spell, after which he picked up a foot injury that sidelined him for three months. Egypt coach Bob Bradley will be hoping Gedo regain his fitness in time for the Pharaohs' anticipated clash against Ghana in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff on 15 October. Gedo is best known for is best known for scoring five goals in the 2010 African Cup of Nations to guide Egypt to a record-breaking seventh continental title.
