Ghanaian mid-fielder Kevin-Prince Boateng moved from AC Milan to Bundesliga side Schalke due to racism in Italian football, Schalke's chief financial officer, Peter Peters confirmed on Monday. The 26 year-old signed, last month, a four-year contract deal with Bundesliga side Schalke after spending three years at AC Milan. Kevin-Prince Boateng was racially abused in a friendly game last January and he reacted angrily by kicking the ball at a section of the crowd, taking off his shirt and walking off the field with his Milan teammates. "Because of the racist incidents, Boateng wanted to leave Italy," Peters told BildSport on Monday. The Schalke CFO revealed that the Ghanaian mid-fielder reached an agreement with AC Milan's president that he could leave the Italian side if he helped the Rossoneri reach the UEFA Champions League group stage. Two days before his departure, Boateng scored twice as Milan qualified for the Champions League group stage with a 3-0 win over PSV Eindhoven. "He had an agreement with president Silvio Berlusconi that he could leave if AC Milan reached the Champions League group stage," he added. During his spell at AC Milan the Ghanaian midfielder played 73 games, scoring ten goals.
