Malaga-target Ibrahim says won't leave without Zamalek consent Promising attacking midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim insists he will not leave Zamalek unless the club gives him the go-ahead
Mohamed Ibrahim, one of the few high-profile players who opted to stay at Zamalek despite the club's financial crisis, insisted on Tuesday he would not depart without the club's consent amid reported interest from Spanish side Malaga. Egyptian media said the cash-strapped Cairo side, who saw several of their regular players as well as Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira leave in the summer, have turned down an offer from La Liga outfit Malaga to sign the talented schemer. “All the talks which said I plan to leave Zamalek without their approval are totally false,” Ibrahim said on the club's official website. “I only took my passport from the club's administrative manager because of the ongoing situation in Egypt. I just needed identification because I don't have any. “I said before I would never do that. I will honour my deal with Zamalek,” he added. Zamalek have also rejected an offer from Swiss side Sion to sign Ibrahim in June. The 21-year-old rose to prominence with a series of impressive displays last season, playing a key role in helping Zamalek make their best-ever Egyptian Premier League start before the competition was cancelled due to the country's political turmoil. Ibrahim, who is lauded for his trickery, has become a regular member of Egypt's senior team squad under American coach Bob Bradley.
