A film screening of a 12-minute documentary entitled “Pity the Nation” by the filmmaker Philip Rizk will take place on 19 March at the Rawabet Theatre, to be followed by a discussion. The documentary discusses the crisis borne of rising food prices, whether it is continuing or not, and the government's role. Rizk also questions if there is difference between food grown by small farmers and that from agri-businesses like those on the Alexandria Desert Road. The documentary is in Arabic without subtitles.
