Egypt settle on Uganda for 14 August friendly Egypt will face Uganda in a friendly game on 14 August after their negotiations with Mali failed to materialize
Egypt will face Uganda in a friendly game on 14 August as part of their preparations for their final World Cup qualifying G match, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Saturday. “Uganda have accepted our proposal to play a friendly game in [Red Sea resort] El-Gouna on 14 August,” the EFA said in a brief statement on their official website. The Pharaohs were due to play Mali on the same date but negotiations between both sides failed to materialize due to organizational problems. Egypt will host Guinea next month in a meaningless World Cup qualifier, having already secured their place in the final two-legged playoff after ensuring they would finish on top of Group G. The seven-time African champions, who have not qualified for the World Cup since 1990, are the only side to garner maximum 15 points from five games in the second round (group stage) of the qualifiers.
