Egypt coach Rabie Yassin believes that the individual skills of Chile players were key in helping them claim a 2-1 victory in their opening game of the U-20 World Cup in Turkey on Sunday. The young Pharaohs failed to preserve their early lead to lose 2-1 to the South American powerhouse. "We were better in terms of collective play, but the individual skills of Chile players made the difference," Yassin told reporters after the match. "We had a lot of chances against but we failed to make the best out of them," he added. Chile boss Mario Salas admitted that beating the African champions was not an easy task. "Opening matches are usually difficult and winning today will motivate us, especially that overcoming the African champions was not easy," he said. "We were better in the second half and the timing of the winning goal was crucial." Egypt, who won the U-20 African Championship in Algeria earlier this year, meet Iraq on Wednesday and England on Saturday in their remaining two games in Group E. Egypt's best position at the World Cup was a third-place finish at 2001 edition in Argentina.
