South Africa to update FIFA on stalled fixing probe

The South African Football Association says it is sending a delegation to the FIFA Congress to update the world body on its fight against match-fixing as a probe into suspicious games ahead of its 2010 World Cup remains stalled back home.
SAFA says Tuesday that its group, led by president Kirsten Nematandani, is "expected" to brief FIFA on efforts to fight fixing when it starts work at the congress in Mauritius on Wednesday.
However, the South African government still hasn't decided on the scope of an investigation into the former host's pre-World Cup friendlies three years ago, where FIFA found "compelling evidence" of fixing.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter says that the fight against match-fixing will be "high on the agenda" at the 2013 congress, which opens Thursday.
