PROGRAMME: Int'l bands play sets with Egyptian bands until 4 June Tuesday nights are hopping at Cairo Jazz Club with Egyptian bands playing one set followed by a set from other Arab-nation bands from now until 4 June
El-Fusion is a series of two-part concerts, where first set is played by Egyptian contemporary musicians, followed by a band from another country in the Middle East/North Africa every Tuesday between 14 May - 4 June at the Cairo Jazz Club. This Tuesday, 14 May Lebanese band Zeid and the Wings, founded by the godfather of Lebanese underground music, Zeid Hamdan, who was also behind Soapkills, and other musical collaborations with Maryam Saleh and Maii Waleed. Prior to Zeid and the Wings, Egyptian band Abo Wel Shabab brought their catchy pop songs on politics and society to the stage. Next up: on 21 May Egyptian Indie-pop band Salalem will be performing, followed by Jordanian musicians Autostrad, who frequently perform in Cairo. The next Tuesdays bring a rock evening with Darwasha (Egypt) and Akher Zapheer (Jordan), and the last Tuesday will bring Egyptian Sarah El-Gohary followed by Oriental Jazz musicians from Morocco Ribab Fusion.
