Ahly's match with Tunisia's CA Bizertin in limbo The Tunisian club says their exclusion from the Tunisian league race is unfair; Ahly still monitoring the situation ahead of match
Ahly's anticipated match with CA Bizertin in the CAF Champions League round of 16 faces an uncertain future as the Tunisian giants have reportedly decided to suspend their all football activities at both the domestic and continental level. The Tunisian club was supposed to host the Cairo giants on 21 April in the round of 16 first leg. Ahly's trip to Tunisia is doubtful now after Monday's decision by the Tunisian FA to exclude CA Bizertin from competing for the league title. The football association chose Club Africain to qualify to the last stage of the domestic League instead of Bizertin, despite the fact that both of them share the second place of their group table with the same points. In protest to the decision, CA Bizertin fans have thronged the streets of Bizirte city in riots. Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz said that the club didn't receive any official notice about the match, insisting that he will arrive in Tunisia on Tuesday to monitor the situation closely. From his side, the Red Devils coach Hossam El-Badry said that his team is only concentrating in preparations for the match insisting "the team don't care about problems that not related to football". The titleholders, Ahly, qualified for the round of 16 following an easy 2-0 home win over Kenya's Tusker last week, giving the team an overall 4-1 aggregate victory.
