'OpIsrael' continues cyber-attack campaign on Israel

OpIsrael, an activist hacking campaign, continues to make cyber attacks against Israeli sites in protest of its alleged human rights violations against Palestinians

The cyber attack campaign, dubbed OpIsrael by Anonymous, an activist hacking group, continues to cause disruption to key Israeli websites after beginning attacks on Sunday 7 April.
The group published a YouTube video, stating it would unleash cyber attacks to expose Israeli human rights abuses.
"Through the use of media deception and political bribery, you have gathered the sympathy of many," a masked person says in the video, "yet, in reality, this is far from the truth. Your goal is to better the lives of a select few while trampling on the liberties of the [Palestinian] masses."
According to Hacker News, in the first 24 hours, OpIsrael made 60 million hacks, of which 60,000 were on websites, 40,000 on Facebook pages, 5,000 on Twitter accounts, and 30,000 on Israeli bank accounts
On its Twitter account, the group continuously updates and reports its hacking victories, which range from hacking bank and governmental sites, to leaking names, credit card numbers and posting anti-Israeli slogans on others.
Its latest leak on Monday includes the lifting of employee information from a Forex company website. On Sunday, Israel's Bureau of Statistics crashed in the morning while the Defense and Education ministries also came to a deadlock, the Associated Press reported. There were also reported cyber attacks on the stock market and Finance Ministry websites.
The Israeli government denied that the attacks were serious, and that it was able to fend them off.
According to the group, Jordan and Israel made a series of arrests of those suspected of the attacks following the cyber assaults.
The hackers are of Arab and non-Arab nationalities, including Malaysians, Moroccans, Algerians, and even Americans.
