Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic has called up Bologna midfielder Saphir Taider for his squad, which is slated to play against Benin in World Cup qualifiers. The 21-year-old has played for France's youth team, but has opted to represent Algeria at the senior level. Taider was a regular on Bologna's squad this season, scoring two goals in 23 Serie A matches. Second-place Algeria will host Group H leaders Benin on 26 March in a world Cup qualifier. Algeria currently have three points, only one point behind leaders Benin.
