Egypt's Elmo causes speculation between Sunderland and Hull City
Hull City are eager to retain Egypt and Sunderland winger; who's enjoying as he makes some impressive plays and books a regular place at the club
Published in Ahram Online on 19 - 01 - 2013

Hull City manager Steve Bruce reveals Saturday that he held talks with Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill over a possible return for Egypt winger Ahmed Elmohamady.
Sunderland already included Elmohamady on the squad for Saturday's trip to Wigan Athletic. They exercised the recall clause in the player's contract from English second-division side Hull City last weekend.
“Obviously, Elmohamady has enjoyed himself immensely at Hull and he's been playing regularly,” Sunderland manager O'Neill said.
“He'll be in the squad today and we'll have a look at him," he added.
The 25-year-old has put on a string of fine displays in the Championship since joining Hull from Sunderland on a season-long loan in summer.
He scored one goal and created several others for his teammates. He was applauded for his darting runs down the right flank and pinpoint crosses; a constant menace to Hull's opponents in the lower division.
Hull City manager Steve Bruce is confident that Elmohamady will return from Sunderland and will give them a boost. Bruce insists on hoping he will welcome the Egyptian winger back to the KC.
"I said from the outset that we need to secure the loans that were here," Bruce said.
"We'll do our utmost to bring him back but he's their player. He's got 18 months left on his contract but if there's something at all possible for another loan we'll try," he added.
"I don't think there's any motives. Sunderland have a lack of numbers and they need cover.
"I spoke with Martin O'Neill and he's hoping to get a few bodies in. If he can do that then it might free Elmo back up."
